Privacy Policy — Ever Recorder
Effective: October 2026
Data stored on your device only
- Audio recordings and transcripts: saved in app-private internal storage with a default 7-day retention and 512 MB budget. They are never transmitted anywhere by the app itself.
- Speech models: Vosk model files you import from a ZIP. Imported and run fully on-device.
- Cloud API keys: encrypted with Android Keystore and used only to call the transcription endpoint you configure. App backup is disabled.
- Settings and schedules: recording preferences, schedule windows, and cloud endpoint configuration. Local only.
Data shared with third parties
- Cloud transcription (only if you enable it): audio is
sent to the transcription endpoint you configure — OpenAI
(
api.openai.com), Groq (api.groq.com), or your own server. Governed by that provider's privacy policy. Default local mode sends nothing. - Vosk model catalog: opening the catalog or downloading a model in your browser is your own network action, governed by that site's policy.
The app contains no ads, no analytics, and no crash reporting. We hold no user data at all — there are no accounts on our side.
Permissions used
- Microphone — audio recording
- Foreground service (microphone type) — background recording
- Notifications (optional) — recording controls and reboot reminders
- Wake lock — screen-off capture
- Battery-optimization exemption request — long recording sessions
- Internet and network state — cloud transcription only, when enabled
- Run at startup — resume reminder after reboot
Deletion
Delete clips in the app's Library, or change retention limits to prune automatically. Uninstalling the app wipes all local data. There is nothing to delete server-side — we hold no user data at all.
Children
The app records audio on the user's own device and is not directed at children under 13.
